چکیده

Abstract The objective of this study was to characterize the parents and respective populations apple trees regarding S-alleles confirm their genealogy evaluate efficiency molecular markers used. Sixteen specific sets primers were used for identification by PCR. Two segregating Epagri Apple Breeding Program resulting from crosses between ‘Fred Hough’ × ‘Monalisa’ ‘M-11/00’ ‘M-13/91’ evaluated. expected segregations are 1:1:1:1 full compatibility 1:1 semi-compatibility, which can be confirmed X2 test. (S5S19) (S2S10) cross proved fully compatible; two triploids identified among hybrids as well. (S3S19) (S3S5) characterized semi-compatible based on DNA markers, segregation in 1:1, expected. occurred together with S-alleles: S2, S3, S5, S10, S19. Thus, characterization not only allowed but also contaminations populations.

Identification of Self- incompatibility Alleles in Some Almond Genotypes by Degenerate S-RNase Primers

The almond, Prunus dulcis Miller which belongs to Rosaceae family, is one of the most important commercial and oldest cultivated tree nut crops. Almonds are classified as a ‘nut’ in which the edible seed is the commercial product. Therefore, pollination and fertilization are necessary in almond. The characteristic of cultivated almond to express gametophytic self- incompatibility discourages se...

Molecular characterization of five new S alleles associated with self- incompatibility in local Spanish almond cultivars

Almond is a highly heterozygous species with a high number of S-alleles controlling its gametophytic self-incompatibility system (GSI). In this work we have analysed Spanish local almond cultivars for S-RNase allele diversity. By cloning and sequencing five new S-RNase alleles were identified: S31 (804 bp) in 'Pou de Felanitx' and 'Totsol', S32 (855 bp) in 'Taiatona', S33 (1165 bp) in 'Pou d'Es...

ISSR Markers for Assessing DNA Polymorphism and Genetic Characterization of Cattle, Goat and Sheep Populations

Based on the purpose of conservation planning for native species, sixteen populations of cattle, goat andsheep were analyzed by amplification of genomic DNA using inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers toestimate of genetic structure. DNA samples of 275 animals were collected to Paccess their genetic content. The polymorphism information content (PIC) values and genetic di...

Segregation distortion of T-DNA markers linked to the self-incompatibility (S) locus in Petunia hybrida.

In plants with a gametophytic self-incompatibility system the specificity of the pollen is determined by the haploid genotype at the self-incompatibility (S) locus. In certain crosses this can lead to the exclusion of half the gametes from the male parent carrying a particular S-allele. This leads to pronounced segregation distortion for any genetic markers that are linked to the S-locus. We ha...

The deterministic behavior of self-incompatibility alleles.

For a system of n self-incompatibility alleles, neglecting mutation and random drift, it is shown that the completely symmetric equilibrium is locally stable, and any allelic frequency less than q equals 1 + a minus the square root of 1 + a-2, where a equals [2(n minus 1)]- minus 1, will increase. For all n, q greater than (2n)- minus 1, but if n greater than 1, q is approximately equal to (2n)...
